This month’s theme focuses on grace. As Christians, we need to pay attention to another word in the Old Testament, “favor” which is often used to convey the idea of unmerited favor – or grace. Grace is a concept and a characteristic of God and is how He has treated His people. For God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

As you read and copy the Scriptures this month with your children, we encourage you to read the verses aloud. Feel free to read the surrounding context and discuss with your children what grace means in the passage. We would also encourage you to re-read the verses replacing the words “grace” or “favor” with “unmerited favor”, for we tend to forget that grace and favor from God are such great things because they are always unmerited.
